Museum Hill

The new road from the highway leading up towards Forest Road has seen an increase in attacks on cars at night, apparently after 2200hrs. Cars have been attacked by gangs of youth on the stretch directly off the highway (at old Museum Hill roundabout) heading round and up towards Forest Road. The layout of the road and the speed bumps make the spot a target for attacks as vehicles have to slow down.

It is recommended that you do not use this road after dark.

On the same note, there have been several reports of offenders deliberately ramming into vehicles in order to rob or carjack the driver as he/she gets out to inspect the damage.

Please pay close attention to your surroundings at all times and if involved in an accident, assess whether it is really necessary to get out of your vehicle or if it is instead better to drive on to the nearest Police station.

Westland’s Roundabout
Reports of attacks on cars at the Westland’s roundabout have increased. Mobile phones and handbags have been stolen through open car windows. However, don’t think that this only happens at this location. It’s a standard practice used by thieves country wide. Always ensure that your car windows are fully closed, keep doors locked at all times and keep hand bags and other valuables out of sight.
