Headaches, migraines, tiredness, fatigue, weight problems, eczema, psoriasis, asthma, catarrh, sinus congestion, IBS, digestive disorders, anxiety, M.E.  and depression.

These, and many other complaints may be due to food intolerance or allergy.

Allergy testing comes in many forms I’m told, however one method seems to have really taken off in the last few years.  Those tested rave about their new levels of energy, better moods, improved metabolism and so on, so we thought we would explain a little more about Bio-Electronic Regulatory Medicine (BER).

Allergy and food intolerance testing using Bio-Electronic techniques first started in the 1960’s and has grown to be more widely accepted over recent decades as increasing numbers of people are seeking alternative methods of caring for their own well-being.

Denise Jessop of Supplalife Ltd recently acquired the franchise Allergy Test UK Ltd and has testing facilities in Sarit Centre, Westlands; near Bomas of Kenya, Langata and Vipingo Ridge, Mombasa.  Interestingly enough, Denise’s passion in starting her own franchise here came about having personally seen the dramatic improvement in her own daughter’s well being, as a result of having tested her allergies using this method.

The testing method is within the field of Bio-Electronic Regulatory Medicine (BER).  The test utilises the acupuncture pressure points on the fingers or toes to measure resistance in the body to substances the client wishes to be tested for. The patient holds an electrode in one hand that is connected to the testing unit and a probe is placed on an acupuncture pressure point on a finger or toe on the opposite side of the body, thus placing the patient in a circuit with the machine. Samples of the potential allergen are placed in the diagnostic unit which will then indicate whether there is any resistance from the patient to the substance in question.   As you can see this is a non-evasive and painless way to test for allergies.

The equipment used is the German manufactured Bio Medscan machine, which carries a European License as a Medical Testing Device. This unit uses the same technology as the M.R.I. scanning machines in hospitals and provides a method of accurate, non-invasive painless testing with the scope to test over 100 substances as well as samples clients would wish to bring to the consultation.

The patient’s results are recorded by Denise, the tester, after which advice as to how to eliminate the offending foods is given. In addition, if deemed necessary, then appropriate supplementation will be recommended. Denise will recommend a follow up appointment for a retest after a period of between 4 and 12 weeks depending on the specific results so that progress can be monitored. After 3 months on the elimination programme the patient is advised on the safe re-introduction of foods back into their diets.
